First Trailer Of ‘Daft Punk: Unchained’ Documentary Hints Of An Amazing Film
Nobody has revolutionized the genre of dance music, or music in general, like Daft Punk. The secretive duo of Thomas Bangaltier and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have finally appeared in a documentary — produced by BBC Worldwide in collaboration with Canal+.
The interesting thing here is how big a deal they make of teasing a “removing of the helmets.” What a lot of people probably didn’t notice — that’s them at the 0:19 into the trailer, with their helmets off. And again at 0:23. And again at 0:28. And again at 1:23.
The original version in French aired this summer and was briefly streamed online without subtitles. For those of us who don’t speak French, the impending release of the English version could be the highlight of our year. An exact date has not been announced, but will be before the end of 2015.
